  HUMBLE BEGINNINGS

Ken Grambo, the youngest of 10 children, was raised on a Canadian prairie farm by first generation Norwegian parents.  In one way or another he is related to every Norwegian born in Canada, countless others in the United States and even a few in Norway. Before you ask, yes, Ken is related to Curtis and Marty Grambo, his nephews and country recording artists!

A PASTOR'S CALLING

Ken grew up in a Christian home and from a very young age felt called to be a pastor.  After graduating from University, he attended Lutheran Theological Seminary in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and was ordained in 1975. "Pastor Ken", as he's affectionately known, served congregations in Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia.  He recently retired after 33 years and devotes more time serving God with his gifts of music and wholesome humour.

GIFT OF MUSIC

Music, especially country or gospel, was common in the Grambo family home, and by the age of 5 years Ken began to sing in public.  He taught himself to play guitar in his teens. Ken's first gospel songs were composed when he was a young pastor and found the Bible sometimes easier to express through music. Ken's country gospel music noted for its rich mellow style reminiscent of Jim Reeves, when combined with his heartfelt lyrics, touches people deeply whether young or old, churched or unchurched.

 OFF TO NASHVILLE

With encouragement & support from his first Lutheran congregations in Saskatchewan Ken travelled to Nashville, Tennessee to record the first album in 1977, Have Thine Own Way Lord.  Ken returned to Nashville five more times as demand for his music ministry grew.  By 1995 he had recorded the albums Arms of Love, He Bids Me Follow, The Light of the Cross, What A Friend We Have in Jesus and Prayers of the Heart.

 THE POWER OF HUMOUR

Ken believes in the healing power of laughter and over the years has become a noted humorist and master of ceremony.

It's no surprise Ken recorded a comedy album, The Funniest Thing, a collection of hilarious songs that's still the favourite.  His concerts always include a few light-hearted songs, stories and jokes about Norwegians, pastors & church life, seniors & aging and his own personal life.

Ken hopes to one day record another comedy album.

 KEN'S MUSIC IN DEMAND

In recent years five more country gospel albums were produced in Canada, entitled With My Shepherd in the Valley, Christmas Comes From Heaven, and Ken Grambo By Request

Water From The Well, was recorded in 2005 on a ranch in the foothills of the Alberta Rocky Mountains with members of the award winning Rawling Brothers Band.

In 2009 Ken released Sing Me Home, a collection of gospel greats and favorite family hymns that include vocals from recording artists,Curtis and Marty Grambo, Ken's nephews.
